The Pilates Technique

Pilates is a complete exercise method using precise, controlled movements, focusing on building core strength and improving posture. Using low impact stretching and conditioning exercises you will strengthen and tone muscles, improve flexibility and develop your sense of awareness as to how your body works.

Our lifestyles today mean that we spend many hours sitting down - at work, in our cars and at home. This weakens our core muscles resulting in other muscles having to compensate to stabilise our bodies; this in turn often leads to poor posture and back problems.

Following a Pilates exercise programme you will strengthen these core muscles, protect your back and help re-align and re-balance your body.

Suitability

The beauty of Pilates, and no doubt one of the reasons for its popularity, is that the technique can be performed by anyone. Young or old, male or female, high tuned athletes to first time exercisers. Pilates can also be suitable for rehabilitation from injury, and both during and post pregnancy.

Options

At Inner Solutions, we offer one-to-one matwork as well as studio work using specialised Pilates equipment.

We also offer matwork classes which are held in small groups to allow for individual attention.

Matwork classes are held at the following days and times:

Beginners /Fundamental Level

Monday 5.30 - 6.30 pm
Wednesday 9.30-10.30 am   
    
Whitton Community Centre, Percy Rd, Whitton


All matwork classes are restricted to small groups to allow for greater attention.
